Hop Valley
The Hop Valley Trail is a 11 mile out-and-back trail in the Kolob Terrace section of Zion National Park. The trailhead begins from the Kolob Terrace Road and wanders through open fields with wide open views of the surrounding rock formations. As you near Hop Valley, the trail descends over 500 ft and is quiet rocky with rain runoff and erosion. The valley floor of Hop Valley is breathtaking with its flat sandy bottom and vertical walls rising on both sides. The trail is very sandy and well worn. This trail is best in the spring, summer and fall. The trail typically has snow in the winter that can remain until early spring. Horse Camping is only permitted at LaVerkin Creek Camp Site A and requires online reservation with the Park.
Parking is pull-through at the trailhead but space is limited, you will want to arrive early on weekends with a trailer. There is a vault toilet at the trailhead.
